If you have a cell phone, no problem because assistance is only a phone call away. But if you don’t have a cell phone, you could be stranded, and at risk, for a long period of time.

Having a cell phone would also be helpful in case of a medical emergency while walking or exercising, or during a power outage. Cell phones are much less expensive than many think, and as easy to use as a standard home phone.

Established in 1988, InTouch America is a cellular phone company that brings you the best wireless networks in the United States at prices that anyone can afford. We specialize in bringing peace of mind and security to our Seniors and their families. Our cell phones are just as easy to use as a home phone and help is always just a phone call away.

For only $4.99 per month, InTouch America offers you a free phone and 10 free minutes to use per month, and you only pay 15 cents per minute when you have to call someone. We custom-tailor cell phone plans to meet any needs and have many other options available.

We can be contacted Monday–Friday at 1-800-500-0066. If you call us by May 31st, 2012, you will get on any plan, when you mention this blog post. 3 months of free service.

Your cellular phone is free or discounted once every 2 years. What if something happens to your phone before the end of your two year cellular contract? Accidents happen all the time; if you drop your phone and it breaks or it is lost or stolen what will you do? If you have cell phone insurance you only have to pay a $45 deductible for most phones and you get a new phone right away, so there is no need to worry. If you do not have phone insurance you would have to buy a new phone at full price and that could be anywhere from $150-$700 depending on the specific phone model that you have.

One of our long time customers, Sara P., wrote in about her recent experience… “I have a Palm Pixi smartphone and I couldn’t be happier with it. I got it about 6 months ago with my phone upgrade eligibility. My phone is my life; I use it to make calls of course but I also text, keep up with my kids, surf the web, check my emails, do eBay transactions, keep up with sports scores, watch movie trailers while I plan the weekends activities… you name it, I do it on my phone. Last week I reached for my phone and it was gone! I have no idea where it went; all I know is that it was lost! I searched everywhere and as panic set in I remembered that I had purchased phone insurance through InTouch America. I contacted my rep and filed a claim. They told me had I not gotten insurance it would have cost me $270 to replace my phone but because I had the insurance for only $4.99 per month I would only have to pay the deductible of $45 and I could pick up a replacement phone the same day or they would ship it to me immediately and I would have it the next day. Say no more, I headed to the store. The claim process was super simple and the staff at the store were very helpful and sympathetic. I walked out 30 minutes later feeling complete – with my new phone (& life) in hand. I could breathe again! I am very grateful to InTouch America for making a horrible experience easier to deal with and I am grateful that I had the insurance. I originally had opted out of the insurance but my rep insisted and said to try it out for a few months. “If you don’t want to keep it; you can cancel it at any time” she said. I’m so glad that I finally decided to add this important protection feature to my investment. If I would have had to pay full price for a new phone I would have had to settle for something more affordable and would have had to give up many of the cool features that I have grown to depend on every day. Getting the insurance was the best decision I ever made! Thank you InTouch America!”

We see accidents like this happen all the time. It is heartbreaking to see someone come in who lost their phone, dropped their phone and it has a cracked screen or their phone is just no longer working and they do not have the insurance coverage. More often than not they end up settling for an inexpensive used phone that they are not happy with, but served the purpose of making and receiving phone calls. They put up with this device until they are eligible again for another phone upgrade because a brand new phone at full retail price is simply not affordable. Others who choose to get another brand new replacement pay hundreds of dollars to replace their phone and they could have protected their original investment by just paying $4.99 per month. If your phone is important to you and you hate unexpected bills, we recommend getting phone insurance protection at the time you activate your new phone. It is stressful enough having to deal with losing your phone or breaking it, allow us to make the replacement process easy and stress free by having insurance. You will probably be thanking me in a few months just like Sarah P. did!

My phone broke again… or maybe it’s time for a phone upgrade, what kind of phone should I get? Every couple years we all ask ourselves this question and then go through the daunting task of researching all the phones out there trying to find the best one for us. If you are like many people I know, all the extra bells and whistles are less of a priority than a durable and reliable phone.

Do you drop your phone all the time? Do you work in construction? Do you have little kids that like to act like your phone is both their phone and their toy? Do you just need a sturdy phone that can take anything you throw at it? If so, let me introduce you to the Casio Boulder, this is definitely the phone for you. It is Military grade sturdy for water, shock and dust resistance, vibration, salt fog, humidity, solar radiation, altitude, low/high temperature storage and water proof. While it can withstand just about anything it also has a couple of bells and whistles for you to enjoy… a high-resolution display and camera, an electronic compass, music player and a memory card slot. It also supports English and Spanish, has an Alarm, Calculator, Calendar, voice memo, picture ID, speaker phone and a flashlight.

Keep in mind that your phone is always free or discounted once during any two year contract period. If you are a person that is constantly dropping your phone or damaging it by some form of physical abuse; then you should consider getting this phone. Your service provider will not give you a discount towards another phone purchase until your contract is over. Unless you have insurance coverage, you can expect to pay full price (in the hundreds) to get a replacement phone. By the way, this phone is FREE when you sign up on any $9.99 plan or higher! An unbelievable value only offered through InTouch America.

Save money, Look stylish, and have access to some amazing features with the peace of mind that no matter how rough you are or how many times your phone gets dropped, or thrown, in water that it will stay working just fine when you need it to.

If you need more information on this phone, please call 800-500-0066 or email us at sales@intouchamerica.com

Are you planning to travel to Europe or anywhere else internationally? Having a cell phone available is important no matter where you are but roaming charges for traveling abroad can be quite expensive. Don’t ever stress about how high your cell phone bill will be when you return from vacation again. Instead of running the risk of your cell phone not working while you are away or paying overpriced international roaming rates if it does work, I recommend renting a world phone from InTouch America. For only $1 per day you can borrow one of our world phones and purchase a pre paid SIM card once you get to your destination. This will allow you to prepay for all of your usage and will completely eliminate a high cell bill that includes those international roaming charges that none of us like to see. By taking this route you can save up to 75%. Because you would be buying a pre-paid SIM at your port of entry you will be assigned a local number on the local home network. You can reach friends and family easily and your calls would be local to the entire region that you are traveling. Since all of Europe and Asia are on the same GSM frequency and network; you can use the same SIM card even if you are traveling from one country to another.

There are quite a few companies that have a very lucrative business renting global phones and service bundled together at absorbent rates of up to $7.00 per day and up to $3.00 per minute with minimum daily requirements. At InTouch America, all of our subscribers can enjoy the convenience of renting a global cellular phone at only $1.00 per day. Why pay a setup fee, roaming charges, or high rental fees? Those are just unnecessary costs. With InTouch America we simply charge $1 per day to rent a GSM world phone with no hidden fees and charges as our thanks to you for being a valued customer. You can keep the phone as little or as long as you like. We want you to enjoy your travels without having to be concerned about an inflated cell phone bill. Please call us at 800-500-0066 or email us at customerservice@intouchamerica.com if you are interested in renting a world phone today. We wish you safe and happy travels.

Are you a senior living alone or do you want to live alone?

Are you scared of what could happen to you if someone is not close by to help you in an emergency?

If you have considered getting a home monitoring system I would like you to consider another option… a cell phone. Often times we think of cell phones as an expensive luxury but they do not have to be thought of in that way anymore.

InTouch America has designed a cell phone plan specifically for seniors that would only need to use their phones in emergency situations; take a look at the comparison below:

In Home Monitoring System
Through Life Alert

Cellular Phone
Through InTouch America

Installation/ establishment fee

$295

$36

Equipment Charge

Included in $295 installation

$0.00

Monthly Charge

$49.95

$4.99

Can equipment / installation charge be waived

No

Yes with a monthly plan of $7.99 or higher which would include free calling minutes every month

System range

150 feet within home

Nation wide

Shipping time of unit

Ships within 2 days

Ships same day

Price Guarantee

3 years

Lifetime of service

Contract Required

3 years

NO contract if you have your own phone – 2 year contract if we give you a free phone

Not only is a cell phone more cost effective but some huge benefits are that it is with you wherever you go and you can call anyone, you are not restricted to just calling a call center for help.

Unlike home monitoring systems you can now feel free to go to friend’s houses, walk the dog or drive to the store, you will always be just a phone call away from help, or anyone else, if the need arises. Living alone no longer needs to be scary and more importantly you no longer need to stay confined to your home to feel safe …now you can feel safe wherever life takes you!

Everyone has a cell phone these days but not everyone is on the right plan. We hear so much about unlimited talk and text plans; as appealing as that sounds the average user does not need anywhere near unlimited minutes. More often than not the unlimited plans are a waste of money to the consumer, based on their usage. The average cell phone user uses around 460 minutes per month with many people using under 150 minutes per month. This amount is nowhere near the unlimited amount of minutes one often thinks they need. Considering the cost of your cell phone plan and the minutes included in that plan; based on research customers often pay anywhere from $.50 – $3.00 per minute.

The average customer only uses about a third of the minutes in their cell phone plan, or they are paying for unlimited plans when their actual usage would fall into a much lower and less expensive plan bracket; therefore the rest of the minutes are paid for but wasted. Although that is a good thing for the cell phone company it is bad for the individual user. In times like this no one can afford to give away money. I would highly recommend everyone looking at their bill on a monthly basis, as studies show most people do not review their entire bill each month. If you see you are using less minutes than your plan allows then contact your cell phone provider and see what other plans are available. If you do not understand your bill or just aren’t sure, your representative should be able to review your account and make sure you are on the plan that’s best for you.

The point of having a business is to make money but that should never be at an unfair expense to the consumer. Honesty and integrity are much more important than nickel and diming customers into higher bills. Make that call today and make sure you are on the plan that is best for you.

We keep our cell phones with us all day every day but does your cell phone have the latest software and roaming updates? This is not something one normally thinks about but it is important for high quality reception and to reduce your chances of receiving roaming charges.

To update your software:

Make sure your cell phone is on and at the home screen, displaying the date and the time

Press *228 and the (SEND) button

When prompted press the number 1

After approximately 60 seconds the automated system will let you know “your phone has been programmed successfully” and you can press the (END) button

Your phone should power itself off and on, resetting itself

Your update should be complete

To update your roaming:

Make sure your cell phone is on and at the home screen, displaying the date and the time

Press *228 and the (SEND) button

When prompted press the number 2

After approximately 60 seconds the automated system will let you know “your phone has been updated successfully” and you can press the (END) button

Your phone should power itself off and on, resetting itself

Your update should be complete

These simple steps can bring huge benefits. We recommend making these simple updates approximately every 3 months.

They say you learn something new every day, so this is your new found knowledge for today. I hope I have been of some assistance. Check back often for more tips and information on the cell phone issues you care about most; if you have specific questions feel free to ask and I will be happy to post the answer shortly.

Do you have Voicemail on your cell phone but have no idea how to use it? Most cell phone plans include voicemail but I have found many people do not use it simply because they do not know how to set it up or check their messages. There is no point in having a feature on your phone that you do not use… so get your phones out and let me help you. This is how to set up your voicemail:

On our Verizon Network:

From your cell phone dial *86 (SEND) OR from a land line call your own cell phone number

When you hear the generic voicemail answer push the #

It will ask you for your password and it is usually your mobile number (or the last 4 digits)

It will then prompt you to change your password

It will then prompt you to record your voicemail message and will walk you through the remaining steps

On our AT&T network:

Dial your cell phone number from your cell phone or a landline

When you hear the generic voicemail answer push the *

Simply follow the prompts, It will ask you for your password, this is the 7 digit mobile number

On our T-Mobile network:

From your cell phone, press and hold the 1 key or dial 123.

It will ask you for your password and it is usually the last four digits of your mobile number.

It will then ask you to create your new password, and record your greeting and name. Your new password can be any 4 to 7 digit number.

After you have completed all three of these steps, you will have full access to your new voicemail. You are must complete all three steps to access your voice mail.

I recommend using a 4 digit number as a password for easy access later. I do not recommend using the last 4 of your cell phone, 1234, or 0000 as these are easy to guess. You should set your new password to a number that is easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess.

They say you learn something new every day, so this is your new found knowledge for today. I hope I have been of some assistance.

It’s that time of year again & everyone is trying to find the perfect gift for the special people in their lives. While I sit & think about what each person would like and what would be the best gift ever, so many thoughts are swirling through my head. I have to find the perfect gift… & I think I may have found it! A Cell Phone… That would work for everyone. My mom could finally have a phone, since I have been trying to get her to buy one for years, if I give it to her as a gift she will have to keep it. My daughters would also love cell phones, not only could they keep in touch with their friends but I could reach them at any time and I would never have to worry about them again since they would be only a phone call away.

My husband, brother & sisters would probably love a new phone too. While they already have service they have the older flip phones and I’m sure they would love to move into the 21st century! While I realize this would be the perfect gift, and then the question is can I find these gifts for a decent price? After much research I have found a way to make it happen & I am so excited about it! InTouch America is a cell phone company that can get me almost any phone I want and they offer 3 different carriers so I am not tied down to only one carrier. I have never heard of a company that offers this amazing flexibility. I also got everyone free smart phones and InTouch America custom tailored a plan for each of us.

My daughters have restrictions so their phones will never go over their allotted minutes, the adults all have unlimited minutes and texting and my mom has a senior plan for only $4.99 per month! I was even able to get a free phone for my mom! I told them a smart phone is a little too complicated for her so they gave me some other options and I know she will absolutely LOVE the phone I chose for her. Christmas gift giving is no longer a worry for me. Everyone is taken care of and I am confident they will all love their new phones. Now all I have to do is choose the perfect wrapping paper for each gift… uh oh, this may take longer than actually finding the phones! Unlimited Talk, Text, and data for only $69.99 on the GSM network for a limited time only. Free Android Included. What a crazy deal. Happy Holidays from Julie.
